Got questions? We've got answers!
We're expanding!
The website you know and love is still there for our publicly bid contracts and vendor information. We moved our Ecommerce to a different platform because
- We wanted to make it more accessible for the people working in Public Safety
- We wanted the ability to expand both portfolios independently
- We needed more space to grow
We're excited to have this new space to grow our store!
Yes - Same Savvik! No acquisitions, divisions, or separations here.
The same team that runs the Savvik.com site you love is the team running SavvikStore.com
We have them! Our records still cover all of the past orders from Savvik.com. If you need a copy of an invoice or want to order something from a previous order, just contact us!
Savvik Buying Group is a Minnesota based non-profit corporation serving as a contracting agency for public safety, education and government.
Formed in 1997, Savvik serves over 18,000 agencies in all 50 states.
We have the simple goal of providing the equipment and supplies our members need at the industry’s best prices.
We have over 18,000 member agencies; we use that buying power to negotiate the lowest prices possible on the things you need every day- whether you're a huge agency or a new EMT.
We have three arms of what we do:
- Right now, we're on the e-commerce side. We have a store full of items that are significantly less than retail pricing from some of the biggest vendors in the industry. You're welcome to browse this store as an individual who works in public safety or as an organization.
- At Savvik.com, we have a marketplace full of vendor partnerships and publicly bid contracts. This is an agency/procurement level marketplace that offers goods and services that are geared for agencies- things like Ambulances, Monitors, Software etc. Some of the items in the Savvik Store will link to our marketplace products. We like showing those off!
- We have a charitable side. Savvik gives 1/3 of our contract earnings to our Association partners whose members use participating contracts. We also partner with The Savvik Foundation, a charitable organization funded by Savvik Buying Group, that helps fund major industry initiatives.
Yes, and also not wholly.
You must be eligible for Savvik Membership to join the site and purchase from it. That doesn't mean that your agency has to be a member, though.
The Savvik Store is open for Individuals and Agencies to shop for their needs.
Savvik membership is available to public safety agencies both public and private, hospitals, schools, government agencies, and related agencies nationwide.
The Savvik Store offers membership to active first responders even if their affiliated group is not a member yet.

Not all, but nearly all of our programs are competitively bid, including several items in our e-commerce store.
Savvik is governed by our Board of Directors. Our board is comprised of public and private first response leaders from across the nation.
Nothing! There is no cost, no obligation, and no liability required to join and participate.
There are no minimum purchasing requirements and no commitments for members use of Savvik contracts.
Mostly through negotiations within our vendor contacts. Our vendors realize that responding to Savvik or our sister company Public Safety Association (PSAI) when we send a Request for Bid (RFB) will potentially earn them thousands of sales opportunities- we have 18,000 member agencies after all.
From these opportunities, vendors pay an administrative fee to Savvik or PSAI. This fee is calculated as a percentage of sales processed through the competitively bid procurement contracts awarded and held by the vendor. This administrative fee is not an added cost to the member and it covers the costs of contract marketing and facilitation, and offsets our operating expenses.
